# Cals connections for ChatGPT and Claude

Status: beta. Directory approval has not been granted. Users whose assistant account supports custom connectors can connect manually.

Authentication: OAuth authorization code with PKCE S256. Sign in to a verified Cals account and explicitly grant access to one workspace you own. No API key sharing is required.

## Workflow
Read available meeting types and availability. Read bookings only with bookings:read permission. Prepare a booking, reschedule, or cancellation only when the user requests it. Open the returned Cals review URL for the account owner to check details and confirm. Preparing a request does not change a calendar. Fetch action status to learn the authoritative result. Never claim success until that result reports completion.

## Boundaries
Tokens are scoped to a single workspace. Guest information stays private. Changes require bookings:write plus relevant read permissions and confirmation on Cals. Changes obey the same calendar availability, booking rules, quotas and conflict checks as other Cals bookings. Disconnect at https://cals.to/dashboard?tab=connectors.
Public calendar.md pages describe public booking options only; they never grant private account access. Public booking agents should follow https://cals.to/agents.md for guest email verification.

## Prerequisites
Configure availability and real calendar connections before relying on conflict detection. Transactional email requires an operational sender. A missing provider configuration is a setup error, not a successful booking.
